J. Wayne Lawson moved to Sierra Vista with his girlfriend Debbie Davis in 2023. In 2025, they were married at the Old Door Shop before a large group of relatives and friends. The Lawsons are thrilled to be living in paradise and being part of this wonderful community.

Wayne has a background in acting both on stage and in front of a camera. He is an acting graduate of Pima Community College in Tucson. His experience includes radio and television announcing and interviewing. Wayne also completed improv training at The Second City and studied in the Chuck Williams Master Acting Class.

Currently, Wayne is a commissioner for the City of Sierra Vista Tourism Commission. At Mescal Movie Set near Benson, he is the tour historian known as “John Wayne” Lawson. He is also active with Film Tucson.

As a former business owner and a board member on several chambers of commerce, Wayne is pleased to be a part of the Sky Island Regional Partnership.
